the payment is held until you confirm delivery
Accounts are the biggest tickets in this category and the ones where sending money first goes worst. Here the payment is held until you confirm you have working access.
Before buying, check what's actually on the account: characters, classes, Paragon progression, seasonal or Eternal, and what the seller hands over.

Two things worth knowing. A Diablo IV account is tied to a Battle.net account, which brings in whatever else is attached to that login — and the original owner keeps recovery access unless the seller walks you through changing it properly. Second, an account transfer is a more visible breach of the terms of service than buying gold. The account risk is higher here.
Escrow means you don't pay for access you never received. It doesn't mean the account can't be recovered by someone else later.
Auto-release window. If you neither confirm nor open a dispute, an account order releases automatically 24 hours after the seller marks the handover done — longer than currency, because checking that account access actually works takes longer than checking that gold arrived.
