Gold, listed by realm — the current season or Eternal — and by softcore or hardcore. These are four separate markets, not one. Gold on the seasonal realm doesn't move to Eternal, and a hardcore character can't use softcore gold. Getting this wrong is the most common way a purchase turns into a dispute, and it's avoidable in ten seconds.
Your payment is held by the platform. The seller sees the order but can't touch the money until you confirm the gold arrived. If it doesn't, you're refunded.
Buyers pay no commission — the listed price is the total.

How delivery works. Gold is usually handed over in a face-to-face trade or a drop in a private game. The seller states their method and their expected window on the listing.
Seasons reset. Gold tied to a season stops being useful when that season ends. If you're buying near the end of a season, check what you're buying and where it lives before you pay.
About the risk we can't cover. Buying gold is against Diablo IV's terms of service and Blizzard enforces it. We won't tell you it's safe. Here's the honest version.
Do I pay a buyer fee? No. Sellers pay a commission that starts at 8% and drops to 3% with their volume; buyers pay the listed price and nothing else.
Seasonal or Eternal? Check the listing. They're separate and don't transfer.
When is the seller paid? After you confirm delivery. Never before.
What if I forget to confirm? For currency, if you neither confirm nor open a dispute, the payment auto-releases 2 hours after the seller marks it delivered. That window is set by the category, not by the seller.
